A Safer future through nuclear and radiation technologies
In the field of nuclear research, IDDA provides services in radionuclide analysis, gamma irradiation, the installation and maintenance of radiation equipment, and nuclear forensics—combining advanced technology and safety.

Our Activity
You can explore our areas of activity below:
Nuclear spectroscopy and radiochemistry
Within this scope, IDDA conducts radiological testing to assess radiation safety in drinking mineral water, food products, construction materials, and industrial goods.

Application of radiation technologies – gamma irradiation
Using gamma irradiation technology, we offer sterilization services for medical and pharmaceutical products, as well as microbial reduction solutions to extend the shelf life of food products. Additionally, this technology is applied in the preservation of ancient manuscripts and other elements of cultural heritage, the modification of polymer materials, and the treatment of polymer waste for safe disposal.

Nuclear research and radiation applications
Our activities include the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of radiological measurement equipment, as well as the automation and digitalization of radiological systems in industrial environments. We offer comprehensive theoretical and practical training programs for users and specialists of these technologies. The department also develops and manages scientific and technological research projects, including their implementation within the framework of international cooperation. In addition, we conduct experimental work in radiation resistance of materials, advanced sensor systems, radiation safety, and radioecological monitoring.

Nuclear forensics and mobile expert support
Within the framework of the “I State Program on the Great Return to the territories liberated from occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan” we carry out comprehensive radiation safety assessments and radioecological monitoring in these areas. Our activities include evaluating radiation safety across critical infrastructure, residential zones, agricultural lands, and primary supply routes. We also conduct assessments of radiation safety in rivers, lakes, and other drinking water sources. Our team implements projects for delineating radiological contamination zones and developing detailed radiological maps. In cases where orphan or illicitly transported nuclear or radioactive materials are detected, we provide on-site nuclear forensic examinations and mobile expert support. This includes identifying the origin, manufacturer, and radiological profile of unknown radioactive sources. We offer technical, methodological, and expert assistance to relevant state authorities operating in this domain
