A cybersecurity training was held for representatives of media organizations.

A cybersecurity training was held for representatives of media organizations on May 14, jointly organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), the Media Development Agency, the Electronic Security Service (ESS) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and "AzInTelecom" LLC operating under the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON Holding).

 

The purpose of the training was to raise awareness among media representatives about modern cyber threats and to contribute to enhancing their resilience and preparedness against such risks.

 

The event was opened with keynote speeches by Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of IDDA; Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency; and Samir Rasulov, Head of the Electronic Security Service.

 

The speeches addressed recent cyber incidents in the media sector, the current level of cyber resilience, and highlighted the importance of strengthening cybersecurity measures and improving IT infrastructure within media organizations.

 

The training sessions, attended by representatives of over 50 media outlets, featured subject-matter experts from the organizing institutions, as well as trainers from Israel’s Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center.

 

Topics covered included cyber resilience, proactive measures to prevent cyber incidents, phishing and social engineering techniques, protection of media organizations’ social media accounts, and recommended cloud services for enhanced security.

 

Each session concluded with a Q&A segment, where participants had the opportunity to receive answers to their questions.
