A new international digital skills education program is being launched across higher education institutions

Registration has opened for IT SkillSprint, a new international-level intensive digital skills program to be implemented across the country’s higher education institutions. The project is delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, and the global education company Ironhack.

The program aims to strengthen students’ knowledge and practical skills in modern technologies, prepare them for the global job market, and enhance university–industry collaboration. At the same time, the initiative seeks to introduce global IT education standards within Azerbaijani universities.

IT SkillSprint will cover the following tracks: DevOps & Cloud Computing, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, and Web Development. Training will be delivered in a hybrid format, and international mentors will conduct intensive in-person sessions in Baku at various stages of the program. Organized in a “bootcamp” format, the program will offer students the opportunity to work on real projects and build a professional portfolio. Additionally, participants will benefit from hackathons, career fairs, and networking events. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a globally recognized certificate from Ironhack.

The program is open to students in the second semester of their 3rd year, admitted to university with a score of 400 or above. Students from any field of study may apply. The selection process consists of registration, a test assessing foundational knowledge, and an interview.

IT SkillSprint will run for six months, from February to July 2026. During this period, participating students will receive academic credits recognized by their universities. As a result, they will be exempt from other courses and able to fully focus on this program.

The initiative is being launched as a pilot, and only selected universities will participate at this stage.
