A programming competition titled “R.M.90” has been held among school students

On October 18, 2025, a programming competition titled “R.M.90” was held among school students, jointly organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), Azerbaijan Technical University, and the ICPC Azerbaijan community.

 

The competition was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani scientist Ramin Mahmudzade, one of the country’s first IT specialists and a pioneer in programming education. Fifty students from grades 8 to 11, who successfully passed the preliminary selection stage, took part in the final round, testing their programming skills in C++ and Python.

 

Following the competition, an official award ceremony took place. In her opening remarks, Vusala Gurbanova, Head of Department at IDDA, emphasized the importance and benefits of the event, congratulating the winners and wishing them success in their future careers. Representatives from the Azerbaijan Technical University and the ICPC Azerbaijan Regional Competition also addressed the participants.

 

The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the top participants: three winners for 1st place, three for 2nd place, and three for 3rd place.

 

The main goal of the competition was to honor Ramin Mahmudzade’s legacy, inspire young programmers, identify new talents in the field, and help students enhance their IT knowledge and skills.
