A video clip showcasing the activities of the Nuclear Research Department of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency has been presented. The video provides detailed information on radiation technologies, product sterilization, gamma irradiation, radionuclide analysis services, modern laboratory capabilities, as well as the search for orphan radioactive materials in the country.
It should be noted that the Nuclear Research Department provides services in radionuclide analysis, gamma irradiation, installation and maintenance of radiation devices, and nuclear forensics, contributing to radiation safety in our country through the application of radiation and nuclear technologies. The department conducts radiological testing to ensure radiation safety in mineral waters, food, and industrial products.
Gamma irradiation technology is used for the sterilization of medical and pharmaceutical products, reducing the microbial load in food products, and extending their shelf life. This technology is also applied in other areas such as the preservation of ancient manuscripts and cultural heritage, and the disposal of polymer waste.
The department carries out orders for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of radiological measurement equipment, as well as automation work in industrial environments. In addition, it organizes training programs for users and specialists, conducts scientific research projects, and operates within the framework of international cooperation.
At the same time, in the field of nuclear forensics, studies are conducted in the liberated territories. The radiation safety of government facilities, residential areas, water sources, and agricultural lands is investigated. The department performs on-site expert analysis of orphan radioactive sources and nuclear and radioactive materials detected during illegal transit, and provides technical and methodological support to relevant authorities.
