African countries are showing strong interest in Azerbaijan’s digital government solutions

During the opening ceremony of the International Telecommunication Union’s Regional Acceleration Center, a session titled “Digitalization in Azerbaijan” was held.

With the participation of more than 50 foreign representatives from various African countries, the session featured a presentation by Salar Imamaliyev, Chief Commercial Officer of IRIA, who informed attendees about the significant advancements Azerbaijan has achieved in digital transformation in recent years. He noted that Azerbaijan’s successful digital development model has attracted growing interest particularly among African nations:

“Azerbaijan’s leading digital government products — mygov, mygov ID, the Digital Document Circulation system, and digital.bridge — are being studied by African countries. As IRIA, we are exploring opportunities to implement Azerbaijan’s digital development experience across several African states.”

He also emphasized that, in addition to digital government products, solutions developed by resident companies of the Technology Park operating under IRIA also have potential for export to African markets. Several Tech Park companies offer highly competitive products and services in global markets.
