Another Meeting Held as Part of the “Digital Skills for Media” Project

The Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) organized another educational information session for media representatives as part of the “Digital Skills for Media” project.
The sessions aim to enhance journalists’ digital literacy, raise awareness of the Agency’s activities and the projects and initiatives being implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of digital development, and strengthen cooperation with the media.
Representatives from more than 30 media organizations attended the meeting. In his opening remarks, Rashad Bayramov, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, emphasized that human capital development is one of the key priorities on the country’s digital transformation agenda. He provided information on the strategic documents adopted in this area, projects implemented by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and opportunities created through partnerships with international technology companies.
During the meeting, Vusala Gurbanova, Head of the Agency’s Digital Skills Development Department, delivered a presentation on digital literacy, information security, workforce development in the ICT sector, and the government’s strategy in these areas. Participants were also briefed on the Agency’s training programs, initiatives implemented in cooperation with universities, efforts to integrate professionals into local and international labor markets, and measures aimed at strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in international digital development rankings.
In addition, the event highlighted ongoing efforts under the “Digital Development Concept” and the “2026–2028 Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development,” including identifying the training needs of government institutions, developing the National Digital Competence Framework, and assessing digital literacy among the population. Information was also shared on training programs in digital skills, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity organized for media representatives, government officials, parliamentary staff, and representatives of the public sector.
At the end of the meeting, journalists’ questions were answered, and a short competition was held among the participants. Similar meetings are planned to be organized regularly to raise awareness of digital development initiatives and strengthen cooperation with the media.
