As part of the ICPC World Finals, the closing ceremony of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Contest was held.

On September 3, as part of the 49th World Finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), the closing ceremony of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Contest was held.

 

The event was jointly organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and “ÖzünÖyrən” LLC, with the support of Kibrit LLC. Opening speeches were delivered by Vusala Gurbanova, Head of Department at IDDA, and Zahra Asgarbayli, representative of Azercell Telecom.

 

During the ceremony, 29 students were awarded diplomas and prizes of various degrees. According to the competition results, 12 students took first place, 11 students second place, and 7 students third place.

 

It should be noted that in the online qualification round held in December 2024, a total of 17,564 students representing grades 1–10 from 376 schools across 69 regions of Azerbaijan participated. As a result, 667 students advanced to the semifinals. The semifinal round on April 12, 2025, brought together 418 students, of whom 100 qualified for the finals. In the superfinal held on June 9, 30 winners were determined.

 

The “Bebras” contest aims to foster algorithmic thinking and mathematical logic skills among students, encouraging their growth into successful future professionals in the field of IT.
