Attention parents with newborns: The process of applying for a birth certificate has been digitized!

Another service of the Ministry of Justice is now available in digital form.
Through a joint initiative by the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Health, the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, the process of applying for a birth certificate has been digitized.
Now, parents can obtain their newborn’s birth certificate completely digitally through the “mygov” application without having to visit the registration authority. When a child is born, the Ministry of Justice sends a notification to the parents via the “mygov” app regarding the registration of the birth. Parents can enter the app, select "Parenting" under the "Life Events" section, and proceed to "Apply for a Birth Certificate" by entering the required information into the system.
During the process:
- Parents verify initial information and enter the child’s first name and last name.
- The registration authority where the birth certificate will be obtained is selected, and a contact number is entered.
- If the system has not yet determined the child’s nationality, both the mother’s and father’s nationalities are selected, and scanned copies of their birth certificates are uploaded.
- After reviewing and confirming the details, the application is completed.
Once the application is finished, the birth is registered with the selected registration authority, and the birth certificate appears in digital format in the “My Family Information” section on the “mygov” platform.
Additionally, based on the citizen’s application, a paper version of the birth certificate can also be provided by the chosen registration authority. The one-time benefit: The one-time allowance for the birth of the child is part of this process. During the registration of the birth, the information is automatically forwarded to the State Social Protection Fund, and the allowance is granted in a proactive manner. Parents can receive the benefit through the "Birbank" mobile app, owned by Kapital Bank.
It should be noted that according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 16, 2024, the submission of birth certificate data via the “mygov” platform holds the same legal force as the submission of the physical document.
