Azerbaijan has been awarded the ‘Major Global Breakthrough in Central Asia’ recognition in a prestigious international ranking
The innovation economy research platform StartupBlink has released the results of the 2025 “StartupBlink Startup Ecosystem Awards.” According to the rankings, Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem has been awarded the title of “Major Global Breakthrough in Central Asia.” Azerbaijan advanced by six positions in the latest ranking, achieving the highest score among Central Asian countries in this category.
The “Major Global Breakthrough” award was presented to the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), the operator of Azerbaijan’s innovation policy. The StartupBlink report highlights that, thanks to IDDA’s efforts, the country's innovation infrastructure and startup policy have developed significantly. The report also underlines IDDA’s leadership in the innovation domain and its role in building a resilient startup ecosystem.
It should be noted that the “StartupBlink Startup Ecosystem Awards” is an annual innovation ranking based on global algorithms developed by the StartupBlink platform. In this year’s edition, 22 ecosystems were awarded out of 18 countries, assessed across 40 different parameters.
