Registration Opens for International Informatics Competition for School Students

The international “Bebras” Informatics and Computational Thinking Competition will be held in Azerbaijan from November 23 to 29, 2026. Registration is now open for students wishing to participate in the competition.
The “Bebras” competition is organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency and “ÖzünÖyrən” LLC, the official representative of “Bebras” in Azerbaijan. Its primary objective is to foster school students’ interest in informatics and computer science while developing their logical and algorithmic thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
The competition will be held online and is open to students in grades 1–10 from all general education institutions across the country. Participants will have 40 minutes to complete tasks appropriate to their grade levels. No prior programming knowledge is required. The tasks will assess students’ analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
The competition week, scheduled for November 23–29, will serve as the qualification round. Students who achieve high scores at this stage will qualify for the semifinal and final rounds.
Registration deadline: November 19, 2026
It should be noted that changes have been introduced to the student registration procedure this year. All students wishing to participate must be registered in advance by their school coordinators through the bebras.az website. Schools and coordinators are advised not to leave registration until the last few days. Detailed registration guidelines are available at bebras.az/rules.
Schools participating in the competition for the first time, as well as new coordinators, can also register through the bebras.az website.
Established in 2004, the international “Bebras” competition aims to increase school students’ interest in informatics and computer science and develop their computational and algorithmic thinking skills. The competition currently brings together participants from more than 70 countries and has been held in Azerbaijan since 2014. To date, 44,461 students from Azerbaijan have participated in the competition.
