The "Bebras" Week will be held in Azerbaijan from December 2 to 9.
The "Bebras" competition, aimed at promoting informatics and digital development, will be held with the organizational support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and the official organization of "ÖzünÖyrən" LLC.
The competition is open to students in grades I-X from all general education institutions in the republic. During the "Bebras" Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition, students will solve various tasks corresponding to their age groups within 40 minutes. These tasks help develop their analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
It is noteworthy that this year's "Bebras" week has attracted great interest nationwide with a broader participant base. Over 1,000 schools from various regions of Azerbaijan, including the recently liberated areas of Karabakh, have already registered for participation.
The international "Bebras" Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition was first held in Lithuania in 2004. The competition, which attracts hundreds of thousands of students, is currently held in over 70 countries, including the USA, Germany, France, Japan, Turkey, and others.
The goal of the competition is to encourage students to solve informatics-related tasks without requiring programming knowledge and to develop their algorithmic and computational thinking.
It is worth mentioning that the "Bebras" competition has been held in Azerbaijan since 2014. In 2023, the competition covered 242 schools from 61 regions and cities, with 5,395 students participating. The top-performing students will be invited to the final stage of the competition in April 2024, organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, where winners will be awarded valuable prizes.
Registration for the competition is currently ongoing. For more detailed information and registration, you can visit the website http://bebras.az.
