The integration of Azerbaijan's gaming industry into the global market is strengthening.

A meeting was held between game creators and "Xsolla," a global commercial platform for game developers, initiated by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and leading game studios in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the new perspectives of IDDA's partnership with "Xsolla," which started last year, were discussed, along with the development of the ecosystem in this regard. Additionally, the country's game studios exchanged ideas with representatives from "Xsolla" and explored the broad opportunities created by this collaboration.
IDDA Chairman Farid Osmanov stated that rapid development of the gaming industry has been observed in the country recently: "In 2024, the number of game studios in Azerbaijan increased by 40%, reaching 24. This reflects the growing interest in game creation, and as IDDA, we continue to contribute to the development of this sector." He emphasized that the partnership with "Xsolla" will play a significant role in providing local game studios access to global markets, investments, and advanced expertise, while also helping the country become a regional leader in this field.
Fuad Karimov, Regional Executive Director at "Xsolla," mentioned that there is great potential for the dynamic development of the gaming industry in Azerbaijan and provided detailed information about the company's planned projects in the country. Specifically, preparations are underway for the creation of a training center for game developers – the "Xsolla StarNest Academy" – in partnership with the Azerbaijani company "StarNest" and "PAŞA Holding."
IDDA will support the strategic development of the center. Additionally, an incubation program will be launched for local game studios. Selected studios will receive support from international experts and have the opportunity to present their games to the wider public and win cash prizes for business development.
It is worth noting that IDDA started its partnership with "Xsolla" in December 2024. The goal of the partnership is to expand training, technology, financial resources, and access to the global market for Azerbaijan's game studios.
