The contest brings together the strongest teams from leading universities across the globe. Each year, more than 50,000 student programmers from nearly 3,500 universities in over 110 countries compete in official ICPC stages. The World Finals feature teams of three students from 140 universities across 70 countries. Azerbaijan has been participating in ICPC regional contests since 2004, making significant strides in the development of programming, raising youth interest in the field, and achieving recognition on international platforms.
It should be noted that since 2024, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, in collaboration with ADA University and the ICPC Azerbaijan community, has been supporting the ICPC preparation program. As part of this collaboration, ICPC-based programming Olympiads for schoolchildren and students, the Azerbaijani stages of the 49th ICPC (1/8 finals, quarterfinals, and semifinals), an ICPC-based international programming training camp, and a visit of ICPC Foundation Board members to Baku were organized. In addition, Azerbaijani finalists participated in the International ICPC Camp held in Kazakhstan.
