The next phase of the “Industry Challenge” program has launched through a partnership between IDDA and “Plug and Play”
The next phase of the “Industry Challenge” has been launched within the framework of the “Openwave Open Innovation” program, implemented through a partnership between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and “Plug and Play”. During the program’s “Open Call” phase, innovative technological solutions are being sought to address the real operational needs of Baku Metro and Azerbaijan Railways (ADY).
During the previous phase of the “Industry Challenge” program, specific challenges where technological solutions could be applied to the operations of Baku Metro and ADY were identified through meetings and workshops with representatives of the organizations. In the current phase, local and international startups, technology companies, and other companies offering innovative solutions are invited to submit solutions addressing these challenges.
The challenges identified for Baku Metro focus on the application of analytical and technological solutions in infrastructure management. These include solutions for improving energy efficiency, modeling airflow in tunnels, and detecting water leaks in tunnel walls.
The challenges identified for Azerbaijan Railways focus on the real-time detection and classification, using artificial intelligence, of potential hazards and obstacles on railway tracks. Ensuring that the proposed solutions operate effectively under various weather conditions is among the key requirements.
The objective of the new phase of the “Industry Challenge” program is to connect innovative solutions developed by technology companies with the specific needs of the real sector and create opportunities to test suitable solutions in real-world environments. Selected companies will have the opportunity to deploy their solutions in a real-world environment and advance to the “Proof of Concept” stage.
Local and international startups, technology companies, and other companies offering innovative solutions in relevant areas are eligible to apply to the program. Applications will be open from September 28 to October 9. The interview stage is scheduled to begin in the week of October 12.
