The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Innovation Center was held in Ganja

As part of the partnership between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU), the Azerbaijan Innovation Center has begun operating within ADAU. The main goal of the Center is to bring together innovators from Ganja and surrounding regions, contributing to startup development, improving access to markets and financing mechanisms, providing mentorship in the field of innovation, and supporting human capital development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Center, IDDA Deputy Chairman Rashad Khaligov emphasized the particular importance of establishing such centers within university environments:

“Supporting the development of innovative entrepreneurship thinking in universities is among our priorities at the IDDA. Innovation centers established for this purpose strengthen the state–university–business cooperation model and make a significant contribution to building a competitive economy.”

The Azerbaijan Innovation Center within ADAU has been equipped with technical facilities for prototyping, hardware design, and research. A computer lab has also been set up for university students, program participants, and other users of the center. Additionally, the center provides spaces for coworking, meetings, presentations, learning, and training.

During the speeches, it was also noted that scientific project collaborations with other universities, technology transfer with companies, incubation and acceleration programs for startups, STEM initiatives with government institutions, and access to international grant programs will all form part of the Center’s activities.

It should be noted that, with the support of IDDA, the Azerbaijan Innovation Center in Baku and “Sumgait Innovation Hub” in Sumgait were launched last year. In 2025, “Andersen Lab,” as well as innovation centers within Nakhchivan State University and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, were also established.
