The possibilities for submitting and responding to citizen appeals electronically have been expanded

As a result of amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Citizens’ Appeals,” the legal framework has been established for the submission and response of both individual and collective appeals of individuals and legal entities electronically through their electronic cabinets in the Electronic Government Information System (EGIS). The goal is to ensure more flexible, accessible, and efficient interaction between individuals and institutions.

According to the amendment, electronic cabinets in EGIS have been added to the means of submitting electronic appeals, as well as to the tools for booking appointments for citizens. Written responses to electronic appeals will be provided by the reviewing entity or its officials, based on the applicant’s preference, by sending them to the applicant’s electronic cabinet in EGIS, email address, or postal address.

At the same time, except for appeals submitted through EGIS, if electronic appeals do not include the mandatory information required by legislation (such as the personal identification number (FIN) of an individual, the taxpayer identification number (TIN) of a legal entity, or an email address when a response via EGIS is requested), the written response will be sent by post.

It should be noted that the provisions of the Law “On Citizens’ Appeals” also apply to appeals from foreigners, stateless persons, and foreign legal entities, unless otherwise предусмотрено by international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party.
