The renowned global gaming company Xsolla will operate in Azerbaijan’s technopark

One of the world’s leading video game commerce companies, Xsolla, has obtained residency status at the Pirallahi High Technologies Park, which operates under the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA).
The technopark residency allows Xsolla to operate virtually, outside the physical boundaries of the park, while benefiting from a range of incentives. As a resident, the company will be exempt for 10 years from social insurance contributions, profit tax, land tax, property tax, dividend tax, and several other taxes.
Thanks to the privileges granted by the technopark residency, Xsolla will be able to make more intensive and efficient investments in Azerbaijan’s digital gaming ecosystem. This, in turn, will create real prospects for the dynamic development of the gaming industry, the application of global best practices in the country, and the recognition of local game studios in both domestic and international markets. Xsolla will also contribute to attracting highly qualified professionals and advancing specialized infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
Taleh Karimli, Head of the Innovation Ecosystem Department at IDDA, emphasized the significance of Xsolla’s presence in Azerbaijan’s technopark for the local ecosystem:
“The expansion of a global gaming company like Xsolla in Azerbaijan demonstrates that the country’s gaming industry is on the rise. In general, the entry of global players into Azerbaijan unequivocally accelerates the rapid development of the local gaming ecosystem. At the same time, it fosters the adoption of innovations and speeds up the growth of human capital in the IT sector.”
It should be noted that Xsolla is a platform that enables 72% of commercial operations in the global gaming business and brings over 20 years of industry experience. Within the framework of its cooperation with IDDA, the first international incubation program to support the development of the local gaming ecosystem has already been implemented. Furthermore, the launch of Xsolla StarNest Academy and other joint projects is planned in the near future.
